The MITA Podcast is a long-form conversation series exploring the meaning of roots - and how identity, belonging, and inherited stories shape who we are.
Rooted in my personal story of growing up in Germany as the child of immigrants who arrived in the late 1960s. Living between cultures shaped my sense of identity and left me navigating an in-between space of identity and belonging. These questions have followed me throughout my life, and this podcast is my way of exploring them more deeply. I named it MITA after my father - as an anchor to my own roots.
Each episode features reflective, in-depth conversations of 45–60 minutes with artists, leaders, authors, spiritual teachers, doctors, and experts from across disciplines. Together, we explore cultural and ancestral roots, migration, power structures, inherited trauma, healing practices, and the stories we carry - often unconsciously.
The format is reflective and conversation-led. Through thoughtful dialogue, listeners are invited to gain new perspectives and better understand themselves and the world around them.
The MITA Podcast launches on 6 February 2026 - the day my father arrived in Germany to begin a life in an unknown country, carrying a suitcase full of dreams…
All episodes will be available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and wherever you get your podcasts.

The MITA Podcast
Hi, I’m Tatjana.
I’m Tatjana Krajsic, the host of The MITA Podcast - a podcast exploring the meaning of ROOTS.
I grew up in Germany as the child of Serbian immigrants, raised bilingually and between cultures. That in-between-experience - beautiful and complex - shaped how I see the world and left me with lasting questions about home, identity, and belonging.
The MITA Podcast grew out of those questions. And my fascination with roots deepened after giving a CreativeMornings keynote on the topic. I’ve been drawn to how multifaceted it is: Cultural roots and ancestral origins, languages, identity and traditions shaped by migration, loss, and assimilation. Inherited trauma, ancient wisdom – once central, now forgotten – even the emotional and psychological roots that quietly influence our lives.
In the MITA Podcast, I explore these dimensions with the intention of getting to the root. Through thoughtful conversation, I create space for stories that are personal, historical, and deeply human.
Today, I find myself living in Munich, grew up in Frankfurt, have my roots in Belgrade, and have lived for over 3 years in Singapore. To me, all of these places are home.
Why I started The MITA Podcast.
I started The MITA Podcast because I kept noticing how often conversations about identity, belonging, and origin were treated as side notes - when, in reality, they sit at the center of who we are.
Living between cultures and languages has given me many privileges, but it has also raised questions I couldn’t easily answer:
Where do we belong?
What do we inherit - beyond nationality or language?
And how much of who we are is shaped by history, power structures, and stories that existed long before us?
Through my work in communications, I spent years helping organizations tell their stories. Over time, I became more interested in the stories beneath the surface - the personal, historical, and sometimes uncomfortable truths that shape individuals and societies alike.
The MITA Podcast is a space for those conversations. I speak with thought leaders, researchers, spiritual teachers, doctors, and creatives who are willing to explore identity, ancestry, power, and belonging with nuance and depth. Not to provide definitive answers, but to sit with complexity - and to ask better questions.
This podcast is an invitation:
to listen more closely,
to reflect more honestly,
and to explore your own roots with curiosity rather than certainty.
The MITA Podcast is a space for reflection and conversation - connected to the podcast and beyond. I’m glad you’re here.
Let’s get to the root - together.
